Hiatus

Many thanks to everyone who stopped by for the Purrfectly Giftastic Blog Hop and participated. Plus, thank you for all your well wishes on my first book being published. I sent an email to the winner of the giveaway. Doctor, Doctor will be in your box as soon as it is released.

Because I am working massive amounts of overtime so I can take vacation at the end of the month, H.L. and I are going to take a two-week break on posting our free blog read, The Law of the Jungle. We will return after the first of the year (and a trip to Key West!) See you then.

Happy Holidays!

Christmas Blog Hop

The Blog Hop Spot's holiday hop starts today! Over 140+ authors are participating, so be sure and check out their web sites for some amazing gifts.

Since I am a new author, my gift bag is a little small this year...but I am happy to offer up a copy of my new novella Doctor, Doctor which will be published in late January/early February 2013 by Total E Bound.

Now you may have to wait a month for your present to arrive on your doorstep, but I think it will be worth the wait as the anthology has five great M/M authors in it! (Elizabeth Coldwell, A.J. Llewellyn, Serena Yates, Sara York & Noelle Keaton!)

Please leave your name and email address to be entered into the contest.

If that doesn't tempt you maybe a glimpse of the cover will. Sexy Dr. Ryker and his boyfriend, Daniel are urging you to enter!

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

Werewolves...oh my!

If you followed the link from Sue Holston's site, thank you. The Next Big Thing Blog Hop features an author each week and they tag a friend, who answers the same set of questions. Last week was Sue's turn, this week's it's mine.

Since I don't have a backlist of books (my first novella is coming out in January), I am going to offer up a $10 Amazon gift certificate as a giveaway prize if you follow me on Twitter or Blogspot. Please leave your name/e-mail address if you'd like to be entered in the contest and say which social media site you clicked on.

Thank you for stopping by!

The Questions:

What is the working title of your book?

Possession is 9/10ths of the Law

Where did the idea come from for the book?

My co-writer Holly originally came up with the concept when she was in a graduate screenwriting class. She wanted to have a paranormal unit within a police department. We played with the idea and came up with one character being a werewolf, the other a human. While they aren’t in a paranormal unit, some of the upper elite in the Baltimore Police Department do know of the existence of such creatures.

What genre does your book fall under?

Supernatural M/M mystery-romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

This is always a hard question for me because I have very specific ideas about what characters look like and movie makers rarely get it right. However, since I have to choose, I’ll go with Ian Somerholder as Dylan and a young-ish Robert Redford as Logan.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Veteran detective Logan Robinson has a secret; he’s a werewolf, and after a night of sex, his younger partner, Dylan, is about to find out the hard way how the disease is transmitted.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

We are hoping our current publisher; Total E Bound (TEB) will option this one!

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

I can’t answer this since we haven't finished it, but we've been working on it since July.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

We’re hoping to write a unique werewolf universe that won’t compare with any other book.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

My co-writer, Holly. I’ve been a fanfiction writer for over 15 years and never seriously considered writing professionally until Holly asked me to write a short story with her. I agreed, and I’m excited to say that our story, “Doctor, Doctor,” will appear in the anthology Emergency Services coming out in January by TEB.

When Holly asked me if I wanted to write a werewolf novel with, I jumped at the chance. When we were in New Orleans on vacation, we started talking about our next book in which we delve into the world of vampires. If it hadn’t been for Holly, I doubt I’d be doing this now.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

Hopefully, it’s a new take on werewolf mythology mixed with an interesting homicide case and it’s sexy to boot!

I tag:

Book cover!

Our new book, Doctor, Doctor. Thanks to Emmy Ellis at TEB for an amazing cover. Here's the blurb:

Daniel Stewart, Chief Petty Officer and dedicated Corpsmen, works at the Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy where he carries around two big secrets: one, he’s gay; and two, he’s in love with a very sexy Navy doctor, Ryker Kincaid, who he’s been having an affair with for a year. Yes, Don't Ask, Don't Tell may be gone, but military rules that prevent officers and enlisted from dating are still in place. Ryker and Daniel have to keep their relationship hush-hush or face discharge.

When Ryker elects to leave the Navy after his current tour is up, all of Daniel’s future plans for their careers are blown to bits and causes Daniel to spiral out of control. Will Daniel’s rash decision cost them everything or push their relationship to the next level?

Free Read: The Law of the Jungle, Pt. 2

This is part two of our new blog story, The Law of the Jungle. Part one can be found here.

If you are keeping up with the story, Blake is about to go and talk to the object of his affections. This section is from Henry's POV (said object).

Part three will be on H.L.'s blog next week. Enjoy!

  * * *

Trust one of Nancy’s friends to have a way to get them into the hottest club in town, but Henry sat there bored, waiting for Nancy and Frank return from the dance floor. Somehow being the designated driver also meant he was responsible for guarding the table. So here he was alone, drinking a Sprite and wondering how long before they could leave to go back to the dorms, order a pizza and watch a video on Netflix. Being a poor NYU student sometimes sucked, but going to school in the Big Apple beat one more minute in the small Nebraska town he’d grown up in.

Suddenly, a loud voice in his ear said, "New here?"

Henry turned around so abruptly he nearly fell off his stool. Straightening himself to an upright position, he looked up to face the stranger asking the question and quickly found himself staring into the most clear blue eyes he’d ever seen. For the first time in his life, since his ill-fated crush on the head cheerleader in his high school, Henry was speechless.
